W. SEAN SOVAK has been appointed managing director and chief acquisitions officer for New York-based real estate investment banking firm W.P. Carey & Co. LLC. Sovak first joined W.P. Carey & Co. in 1994 as the assistant to chairman William Polk Carey. Most recently Sovak served as the company's executive director of strategy and operations.
HERMAN E. BULLS has been named managing director for Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle. Bulls is the founder of the firm's public institutions specialty, which provides real estate advisory services to government entities, nonprofit organizations, transportation facilities and higher educational institutions. He also serves on the board of directors of Jones Lang LaSalle, Americas.
CHARLES S. RAMAT has joined Florham Park, N.J.-based Kushner Cos. as president and CEO. Charles Kushner will remain chairman of the company. Ramat previously was employed as chairman and CEO of apparel-maker Aris Industries Inc. He also has served as principal of developer Ramyork Properties Inc. and principal of United Restaurant Corp.
JEFFREY L. SCHUTH has been named vice president and director of facilities management for St. Louis-based Colliers Turley Martin Tucker (CTMT). Schuth will be responsible for growing the business. He joins CTMT from Jones Lang LaSalle in Chicago, where he was responsible for building strategic relationships with the firm's corporate clients.
