AvalonBay Communities Inc. Bryce Blair has been promoted from COO to the additional role of president for Alexandria, Va.-based AvalonBay Communities Inc. He will oversee the execution of the company's strategy and will continue to oversee operations for the company. Blair assumes the title of president from Dick Michaux, who will remain chairman and CEO. Blair joined AvalonBay in 1985 and has held various upper management positions.
