Asbury Partners has provided a sneak peak of portions of the master plan for redeveloping Asbury Park, N.J., as a retail and entertainment destination (see New Life for a Legendary Seaside City, SCW, January). Highlights of renderings submitted to the City Council for review in March show a rock'n'roll-themed miniature golf course, renovated pavilions with boardwalk kiosks (below left) and a reconstructed Palace Amusements retail complex.
“It's the smell, the feel of what we can ultimately build,” says Nory Hazaveh, a principal of SOSH Architects. The renderings, Hazaveh explains, allow government officials to visualize a completed music-themed retail environment.
