Patterned after the historic, domed Galleria di Milano in Italy, this skylight covers a section of the 2.1-mile-long Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. The largest glazed hemispherical dome in the Middle East, it is just one of several dramatic mall features including a rock climbing mountain, a 270-foot-high indoor ski slope, restaurants and a big-box retail center anchored by European hypermarket Carrefour. The mall was designed by F+A Architects.
