When Simon made the decision to outsource mall operations, a new operational program was born. Total Facility Support (TFS) consists of three national companies that took over the traditional maintenance responsibilities at the mall level. These service providers — Control Services Group, UNICCO® Service Co. and Varsity Contractors Inc. — became the first three SBN-preferred service providers and the bedrock for a network of resources.
For the TFS providers housed at each mall, there is the opportunity to expand their businesses in the same way. TFS providers deliver common area maintenance for the malls, as well as fee-based services for mall tenants, for other retailers and for a wide variety of businesses in the community, including stand-alone retail and community centers. In short, any company that needs maintenance, construction or janitorial services and supplies.
Total Security Connection (TSC) is another program designed to provide quality security services to Simon malls nationwide. By outsourcing security services to national companies — IPC International and Control Security Services — Simon™ malls and its retailers benefit by having experts in security services on site. TSC providers can take advantage of their exposure to the retailers located in the malls as well as the businesses surrounding the malls. In addition to providing security services to more than 163 Simon malls and community centers, the program has added hospitals, parks, office buildings and golf courses to its list of clients.
