Oklahoma City's demographics are comparable to the general U.S. census profile. Advertising agencies are starting to look at Oklahoma City as the next Peoria, Ill. Peoria has been used as the leader of the nation's average consumer. According to Paula Ausick, senior vice president at Foote Cone & Belding, an advertising agency in Chicago, Oklahoma City “is a Wal-Mart test city with more recent formats in place. It took the retail giant less than three years to conquer Oklahoma City.” Oklahoma City now has 10 Super Centers, six Discount Stores, seven Neighborhood Market Grocery Stores and four Sam's Clubs.
