OAK LAWN, IL—Bluestone Healthcare Partners LLC has begun construction for a new $18 million medical office building here on 95th Street, adjacent to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Bluestone said in a statement that the 37,658-sq.-ft. building is already 80 percent leased, with tenants include Midwest Orthopaedic Consultants and Advocate Medical Group. The developer expects the building, designed by Anderson Mikos Architects, to open in November.
Brad Wilson, principal of Bluestone, said he is committed to bringing together all the right pieces to this project. “The ground-up construction will be seen by more than 43,000 vehicles passing by daily,” said Wilson in a statement. “We believe it will strongly communicate the energy and vision of this community.”
Bluestone purchased the site in 2011 and is one of three properties being developed by the Chicago-based medical office real estate developer. Other health care projects are located in Willowbrook, Ill. and Pewaukee, Wis., and additional Chicago suburban sites are currently under contract, Wilson said.
