ILLINOIS–Morgan/Harbour Construction has broken ground on a 33,000-sq.-ft. office and hangar for Atlantic Aviation at the Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling.
Located at 1001 South Wolf Road in the northwest suburb of Chicago, Atlantic Aviation selected Morgan/Harbour to complete the new hangar, which will include 7,000 sq. ft. of office space.
Atlantic Aviation, headquartered in Plano, Texas, provides a wide range of aviation services, including the largest network of fixed base operations in the U.S. and a dedicated concierge service for general aviation aircraft owners and pilots across the United States.
“This development will further enhance Chicago Executive Airport, as well as the joint ownership of the Village of Wheeling and Prospect Heights,” said Mike Kurgan, general manager of Atlantic Aviation. “The project ensures the long-term tenancy of a major corporate flight department securing and bringing new valuable jobs to the local economy.”
Ben Warriner, vice president of construction for Morgan/Harbour is the project executive and Josh Peters is the project manager. The firm’s John Chengary is the project superintendent. Ware Malcomb Architects is providing the architectural services and Jacobs & Hefner is the civil engineer.
The new hangar is slated for completion in late fall 2012.
