SIMPSONVILLE, KY—Horizon Group Properties Inc. and CBL & Associates Properties Inc. have formed a partnership to develop a new outlet center, the Outlet Shoppes at Louisville, here on Interstate 64.
The planned 370,000-sq.-ft. center is already more than 75 percent leased or committed with retailers such as Coach, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Chicos, Nike, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH and more. "Louisville and Lexington are major tourist and retail markets and we have a terrific location to develop Kentucky's premiere outlet center," said Gary J. Skoien, president and CEO of Norton Shores, Mich.-based Horizon.
Construction on the center should begin in June, with an opening set for late summer 2014. Horizon and Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL are co-developing the project with Horizon responsible for leasing and management. The plan includes expansion potential for another 50,000 sq. ft.
