SOUTHFIELD, MICH.—Monroe Acquisition, L.L.C. has acquired 200 West Monroe, located at Monroe and Wells streets in Chicago’s West Loop.
Designed by architect Welton Beckett and constructed in 1977, 200 West Monroe underwent renovations in 2005, which included a $2.6 million lobby improvement effort that added new terrazzo and marble flooring, elevator enhancements, a new air scrubber system, an upgraded fire safety system and a glass canopy to enhance the property’s main entrance.
The 23-story, 536,000-sq.-ft. building has approximately 36,000 sq. ft. of multi-level retail. The new ownership has selected J.F. McKinney & Associates to oversee the leasing of 200 West Monroe.
The high-rise Class B office property is more than 80 percent occupied, with 30 office tenants, including Select Hotels and The Parking Spot, as well as food, retail and specialty tenants such as Equinox Fitness Club, Freshii and Jersey Mike’s Subs.
