ELIZABETH—A panel of six New Jersey executives and 50 women of diverse professional backgrounds met with nearly 60 promising high school-aged girls from Elizabeth, Linden and Newark. The women shared personal success stories and served as mentors as part of the Women’s Future Leadership Forum on Friday, January 27 at Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel in Elizabeth. The Women’s Leadership Forum was presented by Junior Achievement of New Jersey and sponsored by Accenture for the fourth consecutive year.
During the Forum, the panelists participated in a question and answer session that was followed by one-on-one mentoring sessions between the students and executives where they discussed how to give a personal elevator pitch. The day concluded with Junior Achievement Personal Finance breakout sessions sponsored by BP Air, Cogen, ConocoPhillips, DuPont, Infineum USA L.P. and The Provident Bank Foundation. Archer & Greiner, LLP sponsored transportation for the students.
The effort is part of Accenture’s Skills to Succeed corporate citizenship initiative, which will equip 250,000 people around the world by 2015 with the skills to get a job or build a business.
