NEW JERSEY—Cooper University Hospital broke ground on its $100 million, 103,050-sq.-ft. Cooper Cancer Institute located in Camden.
The facility will be comprised of three levels with a fourth level constructed as shell space for future growth. Located adjacent to 3 Cooper Plaza on Haddon Avenue in Camden, Cooper Cancer Institute will be immediately accessible from the hospital and medical school on the Health Sciences Campus.
Occupancy is expected for late 2013.
The Institute’s first level will include a two-story open lobby and radiology and radiation oncology services comprised of state-of-the-art equipment, exam rooms and waiting and registration areas. A café will also be constructed.
The second level will provide space for hematology/medical oncology, surgery and urology and gynecological oncology. Exam rooms, state-of-the-art equipment, consultation rooms, academic offices and waiting areas are planned, as well.
The third level of the Cooper Cancer Institute will include a chemotherapy infusion suite, physician and nurse workspaces, space for clinical research, a pharmacy, a phlebotomy lab and registry.
