NEW JERSEY—Edgewood Properties has announced a program to benefit veterans at its apartment complex currently under construction on Stenton Road in Piscataway. The Villas at Piscataway is offering 22 one- and two-bedroom apartments with rents 30 percent lower than other units in the complex and are being reserved for former soldiers and their families.
“The cost of living in New Jersey has gotten to the point where veterans can’t afford to live here,” said Jack Morris, president of Edgewood Properties. “We expect these men and women to sacrifice their lives for us. But when they return, there is no decent place for them to live. It’s offensive; we are doing our part to change that.”
Upon completion in 2015, the Villas at Piscataway will consist of 166 units, 88 of which will be reserved for veterans. Each of the units will have loft-like ceilings and walk-in closets. Amenities at the complex include a clubhouse and swimming pool.
