NEWARK, NJ—Hollister Construction Services has completed a 72,000-sq.-ft. renovation for Damascus Bakeries in Newark, N.J.’s Urban Enterprise Zone at 60 McClellan Street.
The newly renovated baking facility was completely rebuilt. The former paper distribution center, was updated to include a flour silo, as well as a mixing and scaling room. Hollister added new utilities to support expansion and future construction of a freezer, as well as new electric, gas and water distribution throughout. New office space, an employee locker room, break room and meeting room were also added.
“Newark is being revitalized with the support of family-owned businesses like Damascus Bakery and Hollister is very proud to be a part of this movement,” said Kieran Flanagan, president.
Damascus Bakery is a third-generation, family-run commercial baking company that relocated to Newark from Brooklyn, N.Y.
