NEW YORK—Knoll Inc. has signed a 50,000-sq.-ft. lease at 1330 Avenue of the Americas. The workplace and residential furnishings and coverings company will occupy space on the second, third and fourth floors at 1330 Avenue of the Americas and use the space as a showroom. Knoll was represented by Martin Horner and Scott Cahaly of Jones Lang LaSalle.
The 534,000-sq.-ft. Class A tower, which RXR Realty (RXR) purchased in December 2010, is 40 stores high and is located between 53rd and 54th streets. Floors in the building range in size from approximately 10,000 to 17,000 sq. ft. Top floors offer views of Central Park.
With Knoll’s lease, 1330 Avenue of the Americas will be nearly 90 percent occupied. The company is expected to move to its new space in the first quarter of 2013.
Founded in 1938, Knoll products are exhibited in major art museums with more than 40 pieces in the permanent Design Collection of The Museum of Modern Art, located just around the corner from the company’s new showroom space.
