WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Bernstein Cos., Washington, D.C., has purchased the 269,000 sq. ft. 1990 K Street for $56 million. 1990 K Street is a 9-story office complex with a total of 269,000 sq. ft., including 60,000 sq. ft. of retail space and a 255-space sub-surface parking garage. The building was acquired through a $100 million equity fund.
The U.S. Department of Education, the American Institute for Research and the Cahill, Gordon, Reindel law firm are some of the major tenants. The Bernstein Cos. will manage the property. The company also plans to renovate the garage and reposition the retail plaza. Jim Luck and Warren Dahlstrom of New York-based Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, 1990 K Partnership, in the transaction.
