NEW YORK – Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. has closed nearly 130,000 sq. ft. of new leases at the MetLife Building located at 200 Park Ave., bringing the 2.8 million sq. ft. tower to 100% occupancy.
Insignia/ESG renewed its lease of 120,000 sq. ft. for 10 years. The real estate brokerage firm occupies floors 18 and 19, in addition to a portion of space on the 16th and 17th floors. Steve Siegel, Insignia/ESG’s chairman and CEO, and Joseph Harbert, COO of the New York Region, represented the company in negotiations.
Salomon Smith Barney leased an additional 9,622 sq. ft., bringing its occupancy to 41,000 sq. ft. in the building. John G. Nugent of Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis, represented Salomon Smith Barney in that transaction.
Keith J. Caggiano, senior associate of Shorenstein Realty Services, and Jon D. Zuckerman, Shorenstein’s regional leasing director, represented MetLife in these transactions.
