Bentonville, Ark. – Locally based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to build a regional distribution center in Coolbaugh Township, Pa., which will create more than 600 jobs. Construction of the 1.2 million sq.-ft. distribution center is scheduled to begin in spring 2001.
The facility is expected to start serving stores in the Mid-Atlantic region in spring 2002. The Commonwealth is providing a $2.25 million financial package, through an Infrastructure Development Grant and an Opportunity Grant, to support the Wal-Mart project.
