NEWARK—The College of Architecture and Design at the New Jersey Institute of Technology will host its annual Design Showcase on Thursday, April 19 at Weston Hall on the NJIT Campus in Newark.
Registration begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by a lecture at 5:00 p.m. presented by Preston Scott Cohen, the chair of the Department of Architecture at Harvard and principal of Preston Scott Cohen Inc. in Cambridge, Mass. In addition, students, alumni, and guests can enjoy the Solar Decathlon House Presentation and meet CoAD members of the Team New Jersey, which designed and constructed the house. A networking reception will begin at 6:00 pm and include design presentations by students and alumni, refreshments and music. Participants can earn CEU credits and all proceeds from the event will benefit student scholarships at NJIT.
The Design Showcase was created by the College of Architecture and Design’s Executive Council, which is chaired by Matthew B. Jarmel, principal of Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers Inc., and Stephen Aluotto, president of Nadaskay Kopelson Architects. Jarmel is the chairman of this year’s event.
