Kranzdorf, president and chief executive officer of Conshohocken, Pa.-based Kranzco Realty Trust has been elected a director of privately-held New America Network Inc. (NAI), Hightstown, N.J. NAI is a global partners hip of real estate providers with 150 member firms serving more than 200 markets worldwide. The organization provides brokerage, financial and investment services, property and facilities management and strategic advisory services to the retail, office and industrial sectors. As a director, Kranzdorf's knowledge garnered from 40 years of experience in the shopping center industry will assist NAI in its continued worldwide growth.
Madison Marquette Realty Services Michael Piazzola has been named general manager and Janelle File, director of sales and marketing for the Irvine Spectrum Center, a 500,000 sq. ft. entertainment complex in Irvine, Calif. The center is managed by Madison Marquette Realty Services. Piazzola will direct a staff of 40 and will be responsible for the overall operations of the newly expanded property. Previously, he was a senior project manager of retail for Walt Disney World. File will be responsible for the marketing efforts at the center. Previously, she served the company as marketing manager of special events at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Calif. Tanya Thomas has been named general manager at Fashion Island, a center also managed by Madison Marquette. Previously, Thomas was the general manager of Main Place in Santa Ana, Calif.
BCI Construction Inc. Dudley Richardson has been hired as a project manager at Wichita, Kan.-based BCI Construction Inc. He will be responsible for overseeing cost management, scheduling, quality assurance and safety issues related to his assigned construction projects. He will be located in the firm's headquarters office. Previously, Richardson was a project manager at Candlewood Hotel Co.
The Rouse Co. Melanie M. Lundquist has been named vice president and corporate controller and Gordon H. (Tad) Glenn has been named vice president and general counsel at The Rouse Co., Columbia, Md. Lundquist joined the company in 1991 as director of financial accounting and reporting and has made a steady rise through the ranks. In 1995, she was promoted to assistant corporate controller and the next year became a vice president. In 1998, she added assistant controller, land and development to her title. Glenn joined the company in 1979 as a senior attorney. Since then, he has held the positions of assistant general counsel, senior assistant general counsel and associate general counsel. He became a vice president in 1995.
Developers Diversified Realty David E. Weiss has been named associate general counsel for Cleveland-based Developers Diversified Realty. Weiss will assist Developers Diversified's general counsel with the firm's legal affairs including real estate and corporate and administrative matters. Previously, Weiss was with the Cleveland law firm of McDonald, Hopkins, Burke & Haber, where he focused on real estate law, including acquisition and disposition transactions.
Malan Realty Investors Inc. Frederick A. Synk has been named to the newly created position of director of development and general counsel at Bingham Farms, Mich.-based Malan Realty Investors Inc., a self-administered real estate investment trust. He will assist the firm in diversifying its retail tenant base, expanding existing properties and selectively acquiring and developing new properties. Previously, Synk was a regional director of real estate for Kmart Corp.
Regency Realty John Euart has been named managing director of investments, focusing on the Southeast, for Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Realty. Based in Atlanta, Euart is responsible for acquisitions, development and redevelopment in the eastern United States. Previously, Euart was a partner with Branch and Associates, which was acquired by Regency Realty in 1997. In addition, David A. Schulman has been named vice president of regional operations for the Atlanta region. Previously, Schulman served as vice president of real estate and store development for The Body Shop. He also has previous real estate experience with The Shopping Center Group and Kimco Development Corp.
Callison Architecture Douglas K. Stelling has been named a principal at Seattle-based Callison Architecture. Stelling has expertise in both architectural and graphic design and works with the firm's retail and entertainment clients around the world. He also serves as the leader of Callison's Image Design group, which provides clients with imaging, theme development, graphic design, signage and point-of-purchase design and brand consulting.
Opus National LLC James M. Murrey Jr. has been appointed director, national marketing for Bethesda, Md.-based Opus National LLC. Murrey will work primarily with Opus East LLC through offices in Bethesda and Philadelphia. He will be responsible for developing national account relationships with space users and their brokerage consultants, with emphasis on build-to-suit opportunities. Previously, Murrey was director of Jones Lang Wootton's Tenant Advisory Group in Washington, D.C.
Trammell Crow Co. Michael Hirschfeld has joined the New York office of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co. as a principal and head of the National Urban and Specialty Retail Group. He will use his 25 years of experience in retail real estate to help the firm expand its national presence and to service the firm's clients. Previously, Hirschfeld was senior vice president in charge of the retail division of Equis, a Chicago-based tenant representation firm.
Friedman Real Estate Group Louis Kratchman has been hired as director of new business development at Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Friedman Real Estate Group. He will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and providing property management and brokerage services for the company's clients. Previously, Kratchman was with McNabnay & Associates, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Sega GameWorks Bruce Fabel has been promoted to chief operating officer at Universal City, Calif.-based Sega GameWorks. He will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations for GameWorks and GameWorks Studios in the United States and abroad. In addition, he will oversee new and existing venues, project operations and play a key role monitoring guest needs. Fabel joined the company in May 1998 as senior vice president and general manager. The Macerich Co. Neil Jurgens has been promoted to vice president - real estate at The Macerich Co., Santa Monica, Calif. He will be responsible for all of the company's expansion and renovation projects. Jurgens joined Macerich in September 1997 as a project manger. Previously, Jurgens had held a project manager position with Baltimore-based Whiting-Turner Construction.

Urban Land Institute J. Ronald Terwilliger will begin serving a two-year term as chairman of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in July. He was elected at ULI's 1998 fall meeting. Terwilliger is the CEO of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co. The ULI is a nonprofit educational and research institute that is supported and directed by its members. Its mission is to provide responsible leadership in the use of land in order to enhance the total environment.

He will be responsible for competitive and market analysis, and will guide the company's overall technical direction. Previously, Sanchez founded the software company, Real USA. In addition, Wayne Warthen has joined the company as vice president, technology development and operations. In the position, Warthen will be responsible for design and development of web and software applications and for directing data center and network operations. Previously, he was the director of Internet infrastructure and business development at Experian Information Services.
Simon Property Group Darin L. Grigg has been named general manager of Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group's Town Center at Boca Raton. He will be responsible for maintaining Town Center's stature as the premier shopping mall in its trade area, while overseeing the multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion which will increase the mall's size to 1.5 million sq. ft. by fall 2000. Previously, Grigg served as the general manager of Fashion Mall at Plantation, in Plantation, Fla. He has 14 years of retail sales, management and leasing experience.
Madison Marquette Retail Services Minneapolis-based Madison Marquette Retail Services has appointed Tanya Thomas general manager of Fashion Island, a 1.2 million sq. ft. super-regional shopping center in Newport Beach, Calif. She will be responsible for the overall management and marketing of the center, owned by The Irvine Co., Irvine, Calif.
