Chris Stephens joined Florida Retail Development, LLC as Director of Retail Acquisitions. Stephens has nearly 15 years experience in site selection and commercial real estate. Chris will be acquiring 1- to 5-acre highway commercial sites for Florida Retail Development's program as a Dollar General preferred developer in Florida.
Blackrock Retail Property Advisors completed the sale of Tyrone Gardens Shopping Center, a 209,337-square-foot neighborhood center in St. Petersburg, Fla., to New Plan Realty Trust and the Sembler Co. for $19 million.
Sperry Van Ness expanded its presence in the Florida market by naming Mark Howard Gotz as a senior advisor. Gotz specializes in the sale and leasing of shopping centers and land in Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River Counties.
Colonial Properties Trust purchased Randal Park, a 712-acre land parcel in Orlando, Fla. for $39.5 million. The company plans to build 600 luxury apartments, 100,000-square-feet of office space and 200,000-square-feet of retail on the site.
Kite Realty Group acquired three shopping centers in Naples, Fla. for $58 million. The acquired properties include the 105,515-square-foot Pine Ridge Shopping Center, the 78,340-square-foot Riverchase Shopping Center and the 134,667-square-foot Courthouse Shadows Shopping Center. It now owns six centers in the market.
Fort Lauderdale-based Stiles Corp., in cooperation with the Huizenga Family, will develop a 94,000-square-foot community shopping center in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Dubbed The Shoppes at Veranda Falls, the new project will feature a 45,000-square-foot Publix supermarket as its anchor tenant. It will serve as the gateway to a master-planned community.
