Sturbridge, Mass. - W/S Development Associates LLC, Chestnut Hill, Mass., has begun construction of a 24,000-sq.-ft. Staples Superstore at its 292,000-sq.-ft. Center at Hobbs Brook, to be finished next month. Construction of 80,000 sq. ft. of new shop space will begin shortly. Current anchors at the lifestyle center include Wal-Mart, Stop and Shop and Old Navy.
Birmingham, Ala. - J.Jill, Jessica McClintock, Aeropostale and Yankee Candle Co. recently joined the retail lineup at Montgomery, Ala.-based developer Jim Wilson & Associates' Riverchase Galleria. Now, the center is anticipating the addition of a 150,000-sq.-ft. Costco, to be located on a 15-acre site at the perimeter of the main mall complex. All of these stores are the retailers' first forays into the Alabama market. Costco is slated for a spring 2002 completion.
