Karen Katz has been named the new president and CEO of Dallas-based Neiman Marcus Stores. Brendan Hoffman, formerly vice president and director of the retailer's Last Call division, will assume Katz's current role as president and CEO of NM Direct.

American Eagle Outfitters has appointed Roger Markfield and James O'Donnell co-CEOs of the company. They replace Jay Schottenstein, CEO since 1992. Wall Street analysts say the shuffle is in title only and will not affect day-to-day operations because, essentially, former COO O'Donnell and former chief merchant Markfield were already running the company and handling day-to-day operations.
Todd Stoutenborough is the newest principal in the Newport Beach, Calif., office of Perkowitz + Ruth Architects. Stoutenborough joined the Long Beach, Calif.-based firm late last year, when it acquired his architectural practice.
Chicago-based Northern Realty Group promoted Leslie Mader from retail leasing specialist to vice president. Mader will develop and implement expansion and rollout strategies for retail and restaurant chains. She will also provide leasing and consulting services to Chicago area retail and mixed-use properties.
