Londo – After locally based Marks & Spencer’s announced this past March that it would shutter its 18 French stores as part of a European-wide restructuring plan, the workers went on strike, occupied the company’s French headquarters, and painted Paris shop windows with insults about the chain’s management.
The one-time British powerhouse now says it will no longer shutter the stores, but instead, look for a buyer. The retailer did not say when it would stop looking for a buyer or resume plans to close the stores.
