Charles Dunn Co.

Angela Siuta joined Los Angeles-based Charles Dunn Co. as regional vice president of property management. Duties include overseeing the brokerage's Los Angeles commercial real estate portfolio. A 26-year industry veteran, Siuta has worked for New York-based Loews Corp., Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Kennedy-Wilson Properties and Northbrook, Ill.-based Grubb & Ellis.

Koll Development Co.

Dallas-based Koll Development Co. announced a reorganization of its senior management structure and a shift in emphasis toward balancing the speculative and build-to-suit development programs currently underway, naming Steve Van Amburgh as CEO.

Van Amburgh, who has more than 10 million-sq.-ft.- and 14,000-acres of real estate development experience, joined Koll in 1989 after nine years with Dallas' Las Colinas Corp. He most recently served as director of the firm's corporate development unit.

Donald Koll, who founded the company in 1962, will continue as active chairman of the board. Koll also sits on the board of directors for CB Richard Ellis, The Irvine Co. and Fidelity National Title.

The Limited Inc.

Limited Real Estate, a division of Columbus, Ohio-based mega-chain The Limited Inc., recently announced the promotion of Michael Elleman to vice president of national real estate management. Elleman's previous post was director of real estate business management.

He is now responsible for leading the development and implementation of systems and processes to enhance dealmaking activities and maximize performance of the company's real estate assets. He will report to Jamie Bersani, senior vice president of retail real estate.

Orix Real Estate Equities Inc.

Bernard Buchholz joined Chicago-based Orix Real Estate Equities Inc. as senior vice president in charge of the company's newest unit — a portfolio management division designed to provide third-party asset and property management services, seek equity partners, and expand the company's owned-asset portfolio. Buchholz formerly served as managing vice president of Prudential Realty Group in its Chicago office.

Cohen Financial

Steve Roth and Joel Simmons, both partners at Chicago-based Cohen Financial, will manage the firm's new suburban Chicago satellite office. The new office, Cohen's tenth in the United States, will facilitate further expansion in the Midwest. Roth and Simmons will continue serving their existing clients while working to attract new business in the city's active northern suburbs.

Kmart Corp.

Troy, Mich.-based Kmart named Mark S. Schwartz as president and COO. Schwartz joined Kmart in September 2000 as executive vice president of store operations. Previously, he served as president and director of Wal-Mart Supercenter Stores in Mexico and as senior vice president for Wal-Mart Supercenters.

The discount retailer has also promoted Ron Lalla to the position of senior vice president, global operations. Reporting directly to Cecil Kearse, executive vice president, merchandising. Lalla is responsible for Kmart's Far East operations, global sourcing and quality assurance areas. Lalla joined Kmart in 1994 and held positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as vice president, business development. Lalla replaces Tony Vaal, who retires this month.

Wyatt Realty Services Inc.

Weldon Wyatt, founder and president of Aiken, S.C.-based Wyatt Development Co. Inc. recently announced his retirement. He founded Wyatt Development in 1978. Since then the company created more than 80 retail projects containing more than 14 million sq. ft. across the Southeast. Wyatt will continue to serve as a consultant and member of the company's board of directors. After Wyatt's departure, the company's retail development and property management activities will continue under the name Wyatt Realty Services Inc. Stephen Rainer will serve as president and CEO of the company.

Konover Property Trust

Raleigh, N.C.-based Konover Property Trust Inc. appointed J. Michael Maloney as interim president and CEO. This appointment follows the resignation of former president, chief executive and director C. Cammack Morton, and the termination of former chief operating officer Patrick M. Miniutti.

Maloney is currently president of Highland Capital Group Inc., which he founded in 1998. Currently a director of Konover, Maloney has more than 30 years of industry and financial experience.

May Department Stores Co.

After 37 years with St. Louis-based The May Department Stores Co., Jerome Loeb, chairman of the board, is retiring. He will be replaced by Eugene Kahn, president and CEO. Kahn, who became president and CEO in 1998, first joined May's G. Fox division in 1990.

Other executive moves announced by the company include the promotion of former vice chairman and CFO John Dunham to the position of president, and the promotion of former executive vice president Thomas Fingleton to the position of CFO.

Jones Lang LaSalle

Dan Owen is the new senior vice president, director of management, shopping centers, at Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle Americas Retail. Owen is responsible for oversight of management and operations for the Americas Retail portfolio of more than 50 shopping centers. He most recently served as a senior vice president and regional manager for Chicago-based General Growth Properties.

In addition, Cynthia Baker, previously with the company's retail legal services department transferred to corporate retail tenant representation. A vice president, Baker will provide legal and consulting expertise in site selection strategies as well as lease negotiations and lease restructuring. She will work out of the firm's Atlanta office.

Fred Meyer Stores Inc.

Sam Duncan is the new president of Portland, Ore.-based department store chain Fred Meyer Stores Inc., a division of The Kroger Co. Duncan succeeds Kenneth Thrasher, who announced his retirement after 19 years with Fred Meyer. Duncan most recently served as president of Ralphs Supermarkets, another division of Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co.

A&B Properties Inc.

Michael Wright joined Honolulu-based A&B Properties Inc., a subsidiary of Alexander & Baldwin Inc., as vice president. Wright is responsible for A&B's strategy for growth through real estate acquisitions and investments. Wright, formerly senior vice president of GE Capital Hawaii, will report to A&B Properties CEO Stanley Kuriyama.

JDN Realty Corp.

Lee Wielansky, the current president and CEO of Atlanta-based JDN Development Co. Inc. was elected to the board of directors of JDN Realty. Wielansky joined JDN in November 2000, and is responsible for JDN's development and construction group.

Prior to joining the company, Wielansky was co-founder and CEO of St. Louis-based Midland Development Group. Wielansky also serves as a director of Port Washington, N.Y.-based Acadia Realty Trust and director and vice chairman of St. Louis-based Allegiant Bancorp Inc.

Edgemark Asset Management

Richard Robey, CSM, is the new senior vice president of asset management at Oak Brook, Ill.-based Edgemark Asset Management LLC. As leader of Edgemark's retail property management team, Robey will oversee strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, tenant services, safety and maintenance.

Before joining Edgemark, Robey was senior general manager with Bradley Real Estate, vice president of retail operations with Draper & Kramer Retail Property Services, and vice president with Zaremba Midwest.

Edgemark also promoted Michael Wesley to the position of managing principal of the firm's Chicago office. Here, wesley will oversee retail product leasing, tenant representation and asset management.

Before joining Edgemark, Wesley served as assistant director for Chicago-based Landau & Heyman Inc.
