Negotiations for Orange County, Calif.’s largest land sale in 30 years are set to jumpstart April 28. The deal, which will break up a 3,500-acre tract of in-fill land at the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, goes online this fall, as the United States General Service Administration and Department of the Navy commence an Internet auction they hope will result in a sale by year’s end.
The site, located only miles away from the Irvine Spectrum retail center in Irvine, is being broken up into four parcels, each of which is zoned for various commercial uses including retail and office. Colliers Seeley International, which is handling marketing for the sale, expects the properties will sell to developers acting as joint-venture partners. Potential buyers are invited to tour the site and learn more about the online auction process, bidder support services and property entitlements on the 28th. More information on the sale is available at www.crefg.com.
