Promotions at Bergmeyer Associates Inc. Amy Bernhardt Fischer has been promoted to principal at Boston-based Bergmeyer Associates Inc., a full-service architecture and interior design firm. Fischer has been with Bergmeyer since 1994 and is responsible for stategic marketing, business development, public relations and human resources functions. She also oversees all aspects of client relations.
Also at Bergmeyer, Laura Regrut has been promoted to senior associate. Specializing in designing prototype retail and corporate interior spaces, Regrut has been an interior designer at Bergmeyer for 10 years. Currently, Regrut is designing the new retail store for the Tennessee Aquarium and new prototype for Rockport. Regrut recently completed the new bookstore and shop at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, as well as the prototype design for a new legwear concept called TOZ for Sara Lee Direct.
In addition, Douglas A. Coots has been promoted to senior associate. Coots has been lead designer for a variety of projects at Bergmeyer since 1986. Also, Darryl T. Filippi has been promoted to associate. Filippi joined Bergmeyer in 1996, and is a project manager and designer.
Finally, Santiago R. Perez has been named senior project architect at Bergmeyer. Previously, Perez was a senior project designer at DTS Shaw Associates Inc. In his new position, Perez will focus on commercial work.
FRCH Design Relocates New York City Office FRCH Design Worldwide announced it will move its New York City office from Union Square to SoHo. The new 20,000 sq. ft. office is on one level in a loft-like environment, according to Christopher Barriscale, senior vice president and managing director of the New York office. The office allows for flexible studio spaces where client-centered teams can work together, he says.
Also at FRCH, James Frederick has been appointed director of visual merchandising in the Cincinnati office. He is responsible for developing and implementing visual presentation strategies that maximize the client's return on investment. In addition, he plays a role in the design process, developing merchandising plans, creating fixture designs and preparing standards manuals on a variety of projects. Prior to joining FRCH, Frederick was visual merchandise manager for the retail division of Stoughton, Mass.-based Reebok International.
Little & Associates Architects Opens Regional Office Charlotte, N.C.-based Little & Associates Architects has opened a regional office in Tulsa, Okla., and named five members to the leadership team.
Daryl Radcliffe, a structural engineer with 25 years of experience, will serve as president of The Rollout Retail Division in Tulsa. Robert Olson, a mechanical engineer with 20 years of experience, has been named vice president of engineering for the division. Dennis Woody, an architect with 20 years of experience, has been named vice president of architecture for the division. Also, Gary Hornsby has been named vice president of project management. Finally, Bill Parrish has been named vice president of West Coast operations.
The Rollout Retail Division, which was established in Charlotte in 1995, works with national retail customers on volume building programs. Clients include CVS/pharmacy, The Home Depot and PCA International.
NASFM Elects New Board Officers and Directors Members of the National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers (NASFM) elected new officers and new directors to the NASFM Board during the business meeting at the association's annual convention in November.
The NASFM Board officers are: president, Duane Van Horn, of Lexington, Ky.-based Bluegrass Woodworking of Kentucky; vice president, Richard Ernest, of Elmhurst, Ill.-based Crown Metal Manufacturing Co.; treasurer, Margaret Yates of Puyallup, Wash.-based Pacific Coast Showcase Inc.; and immediate past president, John Schlegel of Cincinnati-based Hamilton Fixture.
The newly elected directors are: Robert Reeve Frackelton of Pico Rivera, Calif.-based Reeve Store Equipment; Edward Kurtz of Tulsa, Okla.-based Dolphin Manufacturing Co.; and James F. Powers of Worcester, Mass.-based Continental Consolidated Industries.
Echeverria Design Group Awarded For Mayor's Design Coral Gables, Fla.-based Echeverria Design Group won four awards, including two awards for retail design, at the 1998 Night of the Stars Dec. 5 at the Design Center of the Americas. The company was presented with the Excellence in Retail Design Award from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Designer of the Year Award for a commercial store from the Interior Design Guild (IDG). Both awards recognized Echeverria's design of the prototype concept for Mayor's Jewelers, which was unveiled earlier this year in Boca Raton, Fla.
