The Macerich Co. Mark Strain has been promoted from leasing manager to regional vice president of leasing for the Southern California region at The Macerich Co., Santa Monica, Calif. In his new role, Strain will be responsible for all leasing issues at the company's 12 properties in the Southern California region, including the recently acquired Santa Monica Place where he is now based. Strain joined the company in 1983 as a management trainee and went on to serve as a mall manager before moving into leasing in 1984.

Noddle Development Co. Two people have been promoted at Omaha, Neb.-based Noddle Development Co. Susan G. Noddle has been named vice president of development and will be in charge of site selection and acquisition for development in the company's 16-state operating region. She also will work directly with anchor tenants for development projects. Noddle has been with the company for 10 years, most recently serving as a leasing representative.

In addition, Jeffrey A. Kirshenbaum has been named vice president of operations. He will be responsible for overseeing the bidding and selection of architects and contractors, supervising construction, and dealing with the financing and refinancing of new and existing projects.

Lend Lease Corp. Sheryl K. Pressler has been named CEO of Lend Lease Real Estate Investments Inc., an Atlanta-based subsidiary of Lend Lease Corp., Australia. She joins the company from her post as chief investment officer of California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). Pressler succeeds Matthew Banks, who will now focus on growing Lend Lease's activities outside the United States and broadening its capital advisory business.

Also, Douglas T. Healy has been appointed head of retail asset management, responsible for a 51 million sq. ft. nationwide portfolio of regional malls and shopping centers. He rejoins Lend Lease Real Estate Investments from Lazard Freres Real Estate Investors. Healy had worked for Lend Lease and its predecessor organization, Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, from 1977 until 1998 where he held a series of senior management positions.

In addition, Jill Ker Conway has been named chair elect of Lend Lease Corp. Ltd. She is a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was president of Smith College. Conway will assume the role of chair on the retirement of chairman Stuart Hornery at the company's annual general meeting to be held in November.

CB Richard Ellis Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis recently promoted three of its associates in the Chicago area. Rich Frolik, a member of the company's Shopping Center Investment Team unit, has been promoted from vice president to first vice president. Frolik joined the firm in 1992. Also, Gilbert Fitzgerald was promoted from senior associate to vice president in the company's Retail Services Group. Fitzgerald, who joined CB Richard Ellis in 1985, is part of an exclusive retail tenant representation team serving both local and national clients.

In addition, Todd Caruso has been named managing director of Retail Property Services in the central and Eastern regions of the country. In the newly created position, he will oversee the development of professional teams that will provide ownership clients with integrated services across geographic boundaries, including brokerage, property management, investment and financial services. Caruso, who joined the firm in 1983, most recently served as managing director of Retail Brokerage Services in the Midwest and will continue to coordinate those services in the Chicago market.

Pepper Construction Co. Pacific At Pepper Construction Co. Pacific, a regional contracting and construction firm with offices in Irvine, Calif., Mark A. Thurman was promoted from vice president and general manager to president. Thurman succeeds Stanley Pepper, who remains as chairman and CEO of Chicago-based Pepper Construction Co. Both companies are subsidiaries of The Pepper Cos. Inc., Chicago.
