The inclusion of nontraditional anchors in retail developments is becoming increasingly important because they create a diverse mix of uses. “New anchors may include civic, cultural and in particular, medical uses that add daytime activity, better co-tenancies, and new trips to sites,” says Scott Pollack, an Arrowstreet principal.
