Atlanta-based The Home Depot is continuing to expand internationally by opening two stores - one in Quebec, Canada, and the other in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Canadian location marks the first of three stores the company will open in the province this year; the next stores will be located in Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
In Quebec, Home Depot's first store is located near Montreal in the city of Laval. It employs 250 associates and is the first French language location for Home Depot.
Home Depot's first store in Argentina, specifically Barracas, will employ more than 300 associates. The company anticipates opening seven more stores in Argentina within the next 18 months. The next openings will occur in Don Torcuato and Quilmes, both in Grande Buenos Aires.
"Home Depot is excited to be opening two new stores at the same time on two different continents," says Anders Moberg, president of Home Depot's international division.
