Menomee Falls, Wis. – Locally based Kohl’s Corp., in conjunction with Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores and Atlanta-based The Home Depot, entered into an agreement to buy the rights to occupy 35 former Braintree, Mass.-based Bradlees’ locations in the Northeast.
According to officials from the companies, Kohl’s will gain 15 leases, Wal-Mart will gain 13 leases and The Home Depot will gain seven. Exact locations and financial details have not yet been released.
Bradlees filed for bankruptcy protection just after Christmas following a disappointing sales season, forcing it to shutter its operations.
