Four Nonprofits Take Space at 281 Park Avenue South

NEW YORK—Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies (FPWA) has added four new tenants to its 281 Park Avenue South property. Cassidy Turley’s David Lebenstein, senior managing partner, Debra Wollens, vice president, and Edward Kent, associate, represented FPWA in the transactions, which totaled approximately 11,000 sq. ft.

New tenants at 281 Park Avenue South include:

• Points of Light, a nonprofit organization offering a network of 250 local volunteer centers around the world and encourages service and civic engagement. The organization leased 4,800 sq. ft. for its expanding New York office. Carri Lyon, senior director, Cushman & Wakefield, represented Points of Light in the transaction.

• Boys Town New York, a national developing youth and family services organization. The organization leased 3,510 sq. ft. to house its New York offices. Opened in 1990, Boys Town New York works with children and families through a variety of programs and serves a culturally diverse population of adolescents from all five boroughs of New York City. Corey Abdo, executive vice president, Winoker Realty, represented Boys Town New York in the transaction.

• Volunteers of Legal Service, which leverages the resources of New York City law firms to provide pro bono legal services to the city’s neediest residents. The organization leased 1,890 sq. ft. at the property. Kent and Lebenstein also represented VOLS in the transaction.

• FoodCorps, a national service organization that seeks to address childhood obesity. The organization has leased 650 sq. ft. at the property. Kent and Lebenstein also represented FoodCorps in the transaction.

Located near Gramercy Park, the Flatiron Building and Union Square, 281 Park Avenue South offers tenants access to a conference center and library area. The building is also real estate tax exempt, which allows it to be an economical real estate solution for not-for-profit organizations.
