A joint venture of Clarion Partners, National Development, Charles River Realty Investors and Alexandria Real Estate Equities will develop Longwood Center, an 11-story, 413,536-sq.-ft. life sciences and biotechnology facility in Boston.
The Center will be located in the Longwood Medical Area of the city, which also serves as home to Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Joslin Diabetes Center and Children’s Hospital-Boston.
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will anchor the property, leasing 154,000 sq. ft. of space.
“This project truly represents the next chapter in leading edge global research and development,” said Mark Weld, managing director and portfolio manager in Clarion Partners’ Boston office. “We are pleased to join with our development partners and Dana-Farber in being an integral part of making this vision a reality.”
