HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL—The $125 million Alexian Brothers Women & Children’s Hospital has opened here on the east side of the St. Alexius Medical Center campus.
The new 210,000-sq.-ft. hospital provides a more local option for patients as far as Joliet and Rockford, Ill. The new complex should serve 48,000 patients this year, according officials with the Alexian Brothers Health System.
The new hospital features 38 labor and delivery rooms, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a Level III 16-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit staffed by more than 80 pediatricians and pediatric specialists. The new hospital will also be the home for the Center for Pediatric Brain, where pediatric neurologists will provide services such as epilepsy treatment, concussion recovery, and neuropsychological and developmental evaluations, providing seamless and comprehensive neurological care for children.
