NEW YORK—The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has tapped Transwestern’s New York office to manage a portfolio of nearly 2 million sq. ft. spanning properties in the New York City area. These properties include:
- MTA’s New York City transit headquarters, located at 2 Broadway. Built in 1959, 2 Broadway is a 1.6 million-sq.-ft., class-A office tower in Manhattan’s Financial District. The building is slated to become the sole headquarters as the MTA consolidates over the next year.
- The Metro-North Railroad operations center, located at 525 North Broadway in White Plains, N.Y., an 87,700-sq.-ft. building located next to the North White Plains Metro-North train station.
- The Jamaica Control Center in Jamaica, N.Y., located at 141-41 94th Ave. The 165,000-sq.-ft., seven-story, class-A office building was constructed in 2003 and is occupied by the Long Island Rail Road Company, the MTA Police Department and the Port Authority of NY/NJ.
- Two buildings in Mineola, N.Y., located at 242 and 250 Old Country Road.
Transwestern’s Jim Millard, principal, and Eric Mockler, president, Mid-Atlantic, will oversee property management services for the MTA portfolio.
