NEENAH, WI—Locally based Cobblestone Hotels said it has opened a new property in North Dakota and has signed an agreement to rebrand a franchise in the resort town of Traverse City, Mich.
The company recently opened its Cobblestone Inn and Suites and Convention Center in Bottineau, N.D. The 45-room property has a 500-person convention center. “This property is a great addition to our brand”, says Brian Wogernese, president and co-founder of the company.
The 65-room Boarders Inn and Suites by Cobblestone in Travers City is replacing a former Wyndham brand. Robert Eklund, owner of the property, said he’s excited to grow the hotel. “It is an honor and privilege to bring this brand to Traverse City, one of the most awarded towns in Michigan for tourism, lifestyle and cuisine.” The new hotel will complete its conversion on June 1.
Jessica Junker, vice president of sales and marketing with Cobblestone, said the Traverse City property won’t be as high-priced as some of the other hotels that benefit from the city’s location along Lake Michigan and Traverse Bay. She said in a statement that the property “is a prime example of a hotel that is in wonderful condition, well maintained, needs a little lipstick, but does not need hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on features and amenities that the guest or the hotel owner doesn’t want or need.”
The company still has nine properties under construction and 35 new properties in development.
