Starbucks may be winning the coffee wars for now, but the coffee and baked goods segment is not a space where retailers can rest on their laurels for long. With Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's already doing everything in their power to grab the greatest share of coffee customers, another chain is making efforts to enter the fray.
Nation's Restaurant News reports that Krispy Kreme, which operates only 238 locations domestically, just hired a new vice president of U.S. franchise development. Patricia Perry's job will be to grow Krispy Kreme's franchise business.
