Houston Strategies, the blog of Social Systems Architect, Tory Gattis, has some interesting observations on the viability of lifestyle centers as transit-oriented development projects.
I'm not saying these developments are bad. Far from it. They're actually kind of cool. But people need to be careful not to confuse lifestyle-center malls that happen to be near a transit stop with the real viability (or possible lack thereof) of true transit-oriented mixed use development with everyday street retail in suburban-model cities like Houston.
