Salon reports that Walmart workers in several locations have left theirs posts to go on strike as a way to protest what they say is miniscule compensation. One worker said that:
after three years at Walmart, he makes $8.90 an hour in the produce department, and workers at his store have faced “constant retaliation” for speaking up.
The strike is supposed to spread to more and more cities as the day goes on, and will include a demonstration tomorrow near Walmart's headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.
Here are more details on the development from The Daily Ticker.
