EDISON—Avidan Management is planninga large-scale solar power project at 180 Raritan Center Parkway, a 350,000-sq.-ft. dry and freezer storage facility in Edison
The firm has commenced the installation of a 2.2-megawatt solar electrical system that will, over its lifespan, reduce carbon emissions by 48,573 tons, and will service more 90 percent of the facility’s power needs. The solar production that will be generated by the system will be enough energy to power more than 235 homes.
The installation is part of PSE&G’s Solar Loan Program, which makes solar energy systems accessible to building and facility owners in PSE&G’s electric service territory. The program is designed to encourage the development and installation of clean, renewable energy technologies throughout New Jersey.
In addition to the solar installation, Avidan recently completed a number of other upgrades at 180 Raritan Center Parkway including reinsulating refrigeration piping, repainting the building’s exterior, replacing dolly pads for the warehouse and retrofitting the lobby with LED lighting.
