The first phase of the $80 million Fairfield Grand Desert Resort is scheduled to open in Las Vegas in May 2001. Featuring a 184-unit timeshare tower and a 420-unit hotel, the resort is under construction on a seven-acre site on Harmon Avenue near the Las Vegas Strip. The property is owned and developed by Orlando, Fla.-based Fairfield Communities Inc.
Designed by Koi & Springer Architects, a division of Orlando-based Morris Architects, the resort will feature a Mediterranean-themed design. Phase I, a 12-story tower, is slated for completion in May 2001, while phase II, a 17-story tower, is expected to be completed in approximately three years.
The resort will include two high-rise, terraced buildings constructed over a three-level parking facility. Amenities will include a swimming pool, a spa and a food court.
