HORSHAM, PA – Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC (Berkadia) today announced the hiring of Mitchell Sinberg and Michael Wallace as senior vice presidents with its loan originations division. They report to Senior Vice President Al Moczul effective September 23, 2013 and will be working in Berkadia’s Boca Raton, Fla. office.
Sinberg and Wallace bring over two decades of experience in the commercial real estate industry to Berkadia. At Berkadia, they will focus primarily on multifamily and commercial debt originations, specifically with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life companies and CMBS lenders. Sinberg, with Wallace’s support, will also provide overarching leadership for Berkadia’s presence in southern Florida.
“Mitch and Mike are highly valuable additions to our already robust team in Florida,” said Moczul. “They are proven high-volume producers with a keen understanding of the market and a strong track record of working with GSEs, life companies and CMBS lenders. Their strong relationships with multiple capital sources will allow us to offer our clients even more flexibility and financing options.”
Sinberg and Wallace previously worked with Beech Street Capital in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where they served as senior vice presidents and Florida regional managers. There, they were responsible for national multifamily and commercial debt originations through a variety of lenders, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life companies, CMBS and bridge lending groups. Prior to that, they both spent time at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital.
“Choosing to work with Berkadia was a natural choice for us,” said Sinberg. “They provide an incredibly diverse platform and lending base, which we look forward to leveraging in our work with clients new and existing alike.”
Added Wallace, “We take tremendous pride in providing top-notch service, and we know we’ll be working alongside like-minded individuals at Berkadia.”
Sinberg graduated from the University of Florida in 2001 with a B.S. in Business Administration, with a focus on Finance and Economics. In 2006, he received his MBA, also from the University of Florida. He is an adjunct professor teaching real estate finance and investment at Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Wallace graduated from Florida State University in 2002 with a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate, and is active in numerous professional associations, including the International Council of Shopping Centers.
