PRESS RELEASE: Chuck E. Cheese & Claire's Sign New Leases Totaling +/-17,217 SF at Kendall Village Center, led by Berkowitz Realty Group

KENDALL, FL - Berkowitz Development Group today announced the signing of two leases at Kendall Village Center for a total of +/-17,217 square feet.

Chuck E. Cheese, a nationally recognized leader in family dining and entertainment, has signed a long-term lease renewal and expansion of +/-2,126 square feet for a total of +/-16,158 square feet. To accommodate this expansion, Berkowitz Realty Group had to relocate accessory retailer Claire’s within the Center. Signing a new 5-year lease, Claire’s has taken a +/- 1,059 square foot space and recently reopened on September 26th.

On behalf of the landlord, Kendall Village Associates, Ltd., Michael Berkowitz, President, and David Singer, Vice President, of Berkowitz Realty Group, completed the transaction. “With occupancy at a robust 98 percent at Kendall Village Center, we had to get creative to accommodate Chuck E. Cheese’s expansion plans,” said Mr. Berkowitz. “With population growth, new residential options in the immediate area, and well above average sales per square foot, Chuck E Cheese’s was anxious to offer the West Kendall community a bigger and better family entertainment experience.”

Part of its expansion, Chuck E. Cheese will undergo a full renovation which ties into a nationwide rebranding to revamp the image of Chuck E. Cheese as a hip, electric-guitar-playing rock star. At Kendall Village Center, the upgrades to the family restaurant and entertainment destination will touch upon the façade, signage, seating, game room, kitchen, bathrooms, and more.

Located at 8651 SW 124 Avenue in Miami, Kendall Village Center is a premier shopping destination for the area, featuring 276,000 square feet of national and boutique local retailers in a pedestrian friendly outdoor setting and 159,000 square feet of office space.
