CLEARWATER, FL – Colliers International has expanded its national Student Housing Group, broadening its services to further support both institutional and private investors who are looking to acquire student housing properties.
Sean Baird has been promoted to full-time broker status alongside Dorothy Jackman and Travis Prince, Co-Managing Directors of the Student Housing Group, based in Tampa Bay, Fla. In this new position, Baird will focus on working with private capital clients looking to buy smaller student housing properties in primary, secondary, and tertiary markets. Also, Victoria Marks has joined the organization as a financial analyst.
Favorable market conditions and attractiveness of the sector have increased the number of non-institutional owners with private capital looking to invest in smaller student housing properties near college and university campuses.
“We see continued opportunity to work with these private investors in select student housing markets,” said Lee Arnold, CCIM, CRE, CEO and Chairman of Colliers International Tampa Bay, Central Florida and Southwest Florida. “This expansion is an indication of Colliers’ commitment to Student Housing services and furthers our ability to help buyers and sellers identify opportunities.”
Baird joined Colliers International’s Student Housing Group as an analyst in 2012, a position he had previously held with the JackmanPrince Group. He has analyzed several billion dollars worth of student housing assets throughout the country, and specialized in financial analysis, market research and asset disposition.
Baird earned a BS/BA in Business Real Estate from the University of Central Florida, and an AA and AS in Architectural Design/Construction Technology from Seminole State College. He previously worked as a site supervisor for a residential and commercial development construction firm in Orlando.
Marks, a licensed Florida Real Estate Sales Associate, graduated from Boston College with a degree in Finance and Marketing with a focus on Real Estate. She was the co-founder of the Boston College Real Estate Club.
