CLIFTON, NJ - Glass manufacturer Pilkington North America, Inc. has leased 11,000 square feet at 125 Kingsland Ave. in Clifton, announced Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. Bonni Heller of Cushman & Wakefield's East Rutherford office orchestrated the long-term transaction. The new location is one of nearly 100 Pilkington automotive glass replacement facilities in the United States.
Pilkington North America manufactures and markets glass and glazing products for both the automotive and architectural markets. The company's global headquarters operation is in Japan; its automotive glass replacement division for North America is based in Columbus, Ohio. The new Clifton facility will serve customers in a radius of approximately 50 miles, according to Bill Waldron, manager of facilities.
"We are in an expansion mode, and adding a new location in northern New Jersey is a great opportunity for us to grow our business," Waldron noted. "This particular property offered the accessibility and capacity we needed."
Heller, who is based in the commercial real estate services firm's East Rutherford, N.J., office, noted that Kingsland Avenue provides convenience to routes 21 and 3, just minutes from the New Jersey Turnpike. "Pilkington's new operation is located in the heart of a densely populated area," she said. "It was an ideal choice for them."
