LOS ANGELES – Transwestern has announced that David K. Henry is joining the firm as a new Los Angeles-based managing director, leading the West Coast Tenant Advisory Services group. Henry is the latest addition to the fully integrated firm’s ongoing expansion. Henry’s leadership will serve occupier clients with locations throughout the U.S with the tenant advisory group’s international alliance with Paris-based BNP Paribas Real Estate. In this capacity Henry also joins the firm’s National Tenant Advisory Steering Committee.
“We are delighted to welcome David to the Transwestern family at this exciting time of growth and opportunity,” said George Garfield, President of Transwestern’s West Region. “Following several years of investment in our tenant advisory group, David’s arrival adds even more energy and experience serving corporate clients domestically and internationally. With so many of our clients deriving considerable revenue from overseas business, David’s unifying role is particularly powerful.”
Henry is widely recognized as a strategic consultant, a tenacious broker and a trusted advisor. His advisory skills allow clients to reduce costs and boost efficiencies by enhancing information management, improving space utilization and workplace productivity. As a broker, his 15-year career includes negotiating lease, sublease, purchase and sale transactions totaling over $1 billion for clients such as Disney, Parsons, Dole and JPMorgan Chase. In 2011, Henry orchestrated the sale of the Parsons headquarters campus in Pasadena, CA – the largest office building sale in Southern California since the 2007 market peak.
“This is a pivotal time for the economy and for commercial real estate,” said Henry. “It is a thrill to be joining a firm that is eager and able to make aggressive moves that will create significant value for our clients for years to come.”
Prior to joining Transwestern, Henry served as a senior vice president at CBRE, where he was a consistent top performer. Henry’s experience in financial services and real estate included positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, Deloitte Consulting and Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was a winner of multiple “LaSalle Club” awards, given to the top 3% yearly producers in North America. He has also earned the admiration of industry analysts, including being recognized as a CoStar “Power Broker.”
The value Henry adds on behalf of his clients is rooted in his uncommon commitment to serving others. He began his career in Africa where he used Ford Foundation funds to make small business loans to people working their way out of extreme poverty.
Henry received his BA in Psychology from Duke University and earned his MBA at The Kellogg School, Northwestern University, where he was an Austin Scholar. Henry serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House.
