Life Care Services LLC, a seniors housing owner and operator serving more than 23,000 residents in 28 states, has acquired Wyndemere Senior Living Community in Wheaton, Ill., for an undisclosed sum.
Located in the western suburbs of Chicago, Wyndemere opened 18 years ago under the direction and ownership of Central DuPage Hospital. The community includes apartment and townhome residences; Westbridge, an assisted living community; and Wynscape, a full-service nursing and rehabilitation center.
“Our acquisition of Wyndemere Senior Living Community is perfectly aligned with our overall growth strategy,” said Joel Nelson, executive vice president of operations management at Des Moines-based Life Care Services, in a press release.
“Wyndemere is an outstanding community with excellent resident satisfaction and wonderful, long-standing relationships in Wheaton,” continued Nelson, “so we are excited to welcome them into our family of senior living communities.”
Central DuPage Hospital selected Life Care Services as the new owner after an extensive search to identify an organization with significant and proven expertise in senior care and the ability to enhance the senior living environment at Wyndemere.
As part of the transition, Central DuPage Hospital and Life Care Services will jointly make an additional $2 million capital investment in the Wyndemere campus. “Our investment is a parting gift to the Wyndemere residents, and for Life Care Services it is a reflection of its commitment going forward,” stated Jim Spear, executive vice president and CFO of Central DuPage Hospital.
A nationally accredited community, Wyndemere offers a wide range of amenities, activities and health services.
