Apartment Group Creates Online Pandemic Flu Resource Center

The National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) based in Washington, D.C. has created a Web-based pandemic flu resource center to help apartment companies plan for any possible emergency related to a flu outbreak.

Information is available for NMHC members at www.nmhc.org/goto/flu. The online resource outlines apartment owner preparations for a pandemic and links to useful sites such as the Centers for Disease Control and Ready.gov, as well as state pandemic planning sites.

A special pandemic flu listserve e-mail exchange restricted to NMHC members also allows firms to discuss their preparations. That includes the status of any cases in their apartment communities, the quality of information received from local officials, and other aspects of planning.
