SANTA MONICA, CA—Restaurant chain, Steak ‘n Shake is entering the California market with a 10-year least at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. The Indiana-based franchise plans to make this California location a flagship store as it begins a west coast expansion.
“Steak ‘n Shake restaurants are very popular in the 22 states where they now operate and we expect them to be very successful at this location. This highly trafficked Promenade location will help the company generate brand awareness quickly,” said CBRE’s Linda Boyer, who represented landlord Promenade Gateway, an affiliate of Maxxam Enterprises, in the transaction.
The restaurant, which specializes in steak burgers, will occupy 4,300 sq. ft. across the street from shopping mall Santa Monica Place. The grand opening will happen later this year, after tenant improvements are complete.
