More on the Teen Driver

The teen that drove his car into a mall last weekend allegedly tried to set a car on fire at another mall.

When asked what her son was thinking during the mall rampage, Roxanne Thomas, 45, the suspect's mother, who was in court, said, "We don't know."

Prosecutors said Dwight Thomas also has been charged with setting fire to a car Tuesday at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville. He believed it belonged to a man who was his ex-girlfriend's new love interest, police said.

District Court Judge Norman Janowitz set a $250,000 bond and $100,000 bail on the mall incident and $500,000 bond and $250,000 bail on the alleged arson.

Law enforcement sources said Thomas is on probation until 2011 in connection with a burglary conviction last year.
